Important notes
- This table is updated regularly whenever new official data becomes available.
- The fee amount is based on each phone's reference price in the official system. These prices are reviewed periodically in coordination with the manufacturers, so the fee amount may change over time.
- These fees do not apply to locally manufactured phones, and Samsung is one of the companies that manufacture some of their phones in Egypt, so checking by IMEI remains the most accurate way to know the status of any device.
- Since April 2026, the fees due on phones brought in from abroad can be paid in installments through valU, as announced by the Egyptian Customs Authority and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority.
- If you would like to know how to check a device, how to pay, the grace period, or how the system works, you can refer to the guide to mobile phone fees in Egypt.
Frequently asked questions about Samsung phone fees and taxes
Do all Samsung phones have fees due on them?
No. The status of a Samsung phone cannot be determined from the model name alone, as each device is assessed individually according to its record in the official system.
Do Samsung phones made in Egypt have fees?
No. According to the official authorities, mobile phone fees do not apply to locally manufactured devices. However, not every Samsung model is made in Egypt, so we recommend checking the device's status by its IMEI before buying.
How do I find out the fees on my Samsung phone?
First get the IMEI number by dialing *#06# or from Settings, then About phone. Then enter it in the Telephony app or website to see the device's status and any fees due. Most Samsung phones support two SIM cards, so they usually have two IMEI numbers, and both should be entered.
How much are the fees on the Samsung S26 Ultra in Egypt?
The fee amount we have for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is about 27,061 EGP, and you can see the values for the other models in the table above. Checking by IMEI remains the official reference for each device.
Do fees differ between Samsung models?
Yes, fees differ between Samsung models because they are linked to each phone's reference price, and the status of two devices of the same model can also differ according to their records in the official system.
Do Samsung fees drop after a new model is released?
They can. In September 2026, the head of the Egyptian Customs Authority explained that phones' reference prices are reviewed periodically in coordination with the manufacturers, and that a lower price for a model may be reflected in the fees due on it.
Can Samsung phone fees be paid in installments?
Yes. Since April 2026, the Egyptian Customs Authority and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority have offered an installment service for the fees due on phones brought in from abroad through valU.
I bought a Samsung phone outside Egypt, is there an exemption?
The exceptional exemption for a personal phone brought in from abroad ended on January 21, 2026. Egyptians residing abroad get a grace period of 120 days from the date the device is first activated in Egypt, while tourists get 90 days.
What happens if I do not pay the fees on my Samsung phone?
Once the grace period ends, the phone stops working on Egyptian mobile networks, although it can still be used over Wi-Fi. The device is reconnected to the networks after the payment is completed successfully.
Do the fees cover Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Tab devices?
No. These fees apply to mobile phones only, and do not cover Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Tab or Galaxy Buds devices.
I bought a Samsung phone inside Egypt, will I need to pay additional fees?
That depends on each individual device. At Ennap.com, we state the fee status of every phone on its product page before you complete the purchase, and you can check your phone's status using its IMEI number through the Telephony app if you would like to be sure.
Where can I find a full explanation of how mobile phone fees work?
